Isn't Easter great? A special holiday just for eggs!
Sadly, as with most things in life, even eggs suffer some unnerving moments:

ReplyDeleteTo answer your question, no, I don't think so. Pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, yes, but maple syrup and French toast and Belgian waffles, not that I've ever noticed.
On the telly they show Americans eating that stuff for breakfast - any idea if that's true?
Yes, maple syrup! yum, yum, yum...I slather/pour the stuff on myself on pancakes, French Toast, and Belgian waffles. If you really want to add to the calories, you put a pat of butter on top of the hot cakes and THEN you pour the syrup on top and then use a knife and fork to cut into the cakes. There's nothing like the flavor of syrup and melted butter...Once you've had real maple syrup, there's no going back! If you caught the last Corrie episode, there's that fellow Colin who is an ex-teaching colleague of John Stape. He invites him to his going away party as he's escaping to Canada -- the land of maple syrup and Kim Cattrall (yes, she is originally from Canada, but really... she's Hollywood).
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, you must tell me next time you visitacross the pond. I shall have to take you myself to an American/Canadin brunch. 100% real maple syrup is so different than the stuff you get on regular store shelves -- most of those are fakes or at most 10% real maple syrup.
I thought Kim Cattrall was originally a scouser?
